ABOUT US:

Kevin Lane's Nostalgia Revue was originally set up in the wake of two reunion nights for Uncle Tom's Cabin which was a successful club in the Greater Manchester area in the late sixties. For the full story of Uncle Tom's Cabin click the button on the
left marked Uncle Tom's story.Jimmy Barlow and myself had been requested on several occasions to run a re-union night for the above club. After organising and running the first re-union we were pleasantly surprised by the attendance. We then decided to create The Nostalgia Revue as we felt that there was a market for this type of evening. Our idea was to tour the evening to various venues. We have so far run evenings at the following venues.

                        St.Edmunds Social Club - Walkden
                      Farnworth Veterans Club - Farnworth
The Conservative Club - Little Hulton
The Top Club - Little Hulton
The Cricket Club - Little Hulton
                                       Walkden Legion
                              The Armitage - Little Hulton
                              Patricroft Conservative Club
                          Boothstown Royal British Legion
                             Swinton Royal British Legion
Flixton Football Club

Since the above was written things have moved on somewhat, we will shortly be entering our fourth year of operation, which just proves that there is a market out there for our type of night. We have meet loads and loads of new friends, a few old Uncle Toms customers but mainly people who weren't even alive when Uncle Toms was going. The age spread of our customer base never ceases to amaze me, we have customers from 18 to 80, which shows you that the wonder of Motown music will never fade. I get a special thrill when younger people come up to me and say this music is great what is it.

Hopefully things will keep going for a while yet, we are considering starting doing Saturdays as well as Fridays if we can get the venues on Saturdays. I think we will pretty much keep operations in the North Manchester area, although we have had
enquiries from outside the area, mainly from people who have attended one of our nights.

The bottom line is while you support us we'll keep it going. I promise you I will know when enough is enough. There again before then I'll probably be wheeled off to the happy retirement home or worst.
